We Need to Defend the CRED Report And Its Authors

The hysterical and vicious reaction to the simple point that labels of ‘institutional, systemic and structural racism’ need to be supported by a wider range of empirical evidence and logical reasoning tells us that more of us need to be brave and speak out – we need to publicly defend both the report and its authors. Passionate disagreement is not the same as personal vilification: the former enriches public life, the latter corrodes it. Rakib Ehsan in Spiked explains why people like Tony Sewell are hated by the identitarian left who need black people to be victims:

Sewell is ultimately ‘guilty’ of being a high-achieving black British man who does not hesitate to call out the deeply regressive elements of the left’s tribal racial identity politics.
